Pattern mixing 101 for gentlemen... don't be scared !

Pattern mixing 101...

Sometimes it seems impossible to know how to mix and match checks with stripes with is a great article I found that breaks it down into several easy steps.

Personally, I think you can never go wrong with polka dots, paisley, or foulard prints for ties.  Stripe and check shirts will always be a classic (and for instant vintage appeal, get one with a contrasting white cuff & collar).  Herringbone tweeds in tan, gray, and brown.  The classic trouser in navy, gray, and brown.

There are so many basics, that when paired correctly can give you instant pazzazz.

Nothing is more boring than a plaid suit, white shirt, and solid tie....

Men's Fashion at the Golden Globes

Golden Globes, Men's Review:

I can't tell you how disappointed I am with the guys this year! There are so many options for men, and it seemed to either be the same old boring 2 button tuxedo, or the "edgy" guys wearing All-star sneakers with their ensemble.

Points missed: lack of pocket squares & waistcoats/cummerbunds.... NO one had a boutonniere and they are all OVER Europe right now (if there is a button hole on the lapel of your jacket, USE IT!) .... lack of proper tailoring.... and lots of BAD shoes! Come on guys, velvet slippers are ALL the rage and I didn't see not ONE pair.

The BIGGEST sin? the pre-tied bow tie! If your stylist can't tie the real deal, they should be fired!

Matthew McConaughey & Usher were some of the few the went outside the box and embraced a little bit of color....and Bradley Cooper had the fit down perfect! KUDOS to you boys!

Ate dinner at an amazing restaurant, Louis Benton Steak House- prime rib and great conversation with gal pal Veronica.
